Red Hunter

Quite rarely an author listens to her/his readers the way Jennifer Loiske did after wrapping up her bestselling Immortal Blood series. Readers wanted more, so she gave them more and some. Not only did she write a follow up but she also created an entirely new series with some of the most liked characters from Immortal Blood series. We are proud to present you RED HUNTER, the first part of Blood Hunters series!

The hunt is not over!

The story of Samantha Green (the Immortal Blood series) continues in this fast-paced, utterly absorbing new series. Red Hunter, book one of the Blood Hunters series, takes up the story where the Immortal Blood series ended, yet is a complete stand-alone series that does not require prior knowledge of the Immortal Blood series.

For a second, Samantha, ‘Sam’, Green thought she could finally put her past behind her and concentrate on the future. She thought she was being given a second chance and that something exciting was looming ahead. But with a past like hers, she really couldn’t have a future until those wanting to kill her were dead, or even then…

Nothing in Sam’s new life is what it seems. She’s being tossed around with the evil twins Alexander and Benjamin, the drool-worthy fighters assigned to take her vampire instincts to a whole new level. Dane and Sam … their relationship can only be described as complicated. In an epic way. And Kieran, sweet, blue-eyed servant, friend, and something like a little brother to Sam, is drawn into the middle of a game that the lunatic master vampires are steering arbitrarily.

Can Sam survive or is she only a pawn in a delusional game that no one can win? Can she beat her enemies at their own game without losing herself on the way? And what happens when she is introduced to the Hunter society?

IBS teaser for Instagram 1Excerpt:

“Alex and Ben are my best fighters.” Meriel touched my arm.

“Then why haven’t I seen them before?” I demanded.

“Because they don’t play games.”

I blushed but lifted my chin higher.

“And neither do I.” Meriel’s tone held a warning. “It’s time for you to continue your training.”

“And become what?” I almost swallowed the words.

She grinned.

Oh no. Cold shivers ran through my body. I knew enough to know where this was all going. Master vampires had needs and to fulfill those needs they required weapons. Weapons who would do anything they commanded. People known as shadows, as they were the ones working behind the scenes and doing all the dirty work. Assassins with no conscience and also – I tried to stay calm – someone who would not be missed.

“No.” I shook my head.

She peered at me, measuring the look on my face.

I knew before she spoke that the next words would be a threat. “There’s nothing you can say to change my mind,” I said hastily, but even as I spoke I knew my words were lies. Actually, there were plenty of things she could do and we both knew it. The question was how far was she willing to go to make me bend? “Look, I’m not the right material for that, and you know it. I’m too reckless.”

She shook her head slowly, clearly amused.

“I am,” I argued. “Ask anyone. I can’t be trusted.”

“So young.” She touched my cheek.

I flinched but held my ground.

“You think you know everything but you don’t.” Meriel sighed and lowered her gaze for a moment. “Anyone can be trusted if there is a death threat hanging over the heads of their loved ones.”

I squeezed my fist closed, hate crawling through my veins. Did she really think she could break me with a threat? How stupid of her!

She stared steadily at me. I stared back, neither of us willing to back down. We both knew she could get my friends killed in a blink, but that would turn both Gabriel and me against her, and if one thing was sure it was that she loved her son and would not jeopardize their relationship just to get rid of me.

She narrowed her eyes, crossing her arms elegantly over her chest. “Fine. I’ll make a deal with you.” She paused, waiting me to object.

I stayed quiet.

“If you can beat the twins, I let you be and there will be no more questioning your skills or motives. But if you don’t you will accept them as your new instructors and let them be your shadows until they say you’re ready.”

“And?” I asked, as I was sure she wasn’t done yet.

“And you will be moved into another mansion.”

I opened my mouth to protest but she silenced me by lifting her finger.

“A mansion just as safe as this and you can take your friends with you.”

“But not Gabriel,” I stated bitterly.

“Not Gabriel,” she confirmed.

I stayed quiet, pondering her offer. It was a fair offer and something I could live with, but losing Gabriel, well, that was not gonna be easy.

“What if he wants to come with me?”

“He won’t. I’ll make sure of it,” Meriel said strongly.

I stepped away from her and eyed the twins. They looked casually relaxed and yet I knew they were ready to fight in a blink. Everything in their lean, trained bodies told me these men did not need a weapon to kill. Their bodies were the weapons. I let my eyes wander slowly over their bodies and faces, realizing gaze by gaze what made them so perfect for Meriel’s use. Any woman, and probably most of the men, too, would have gone to jelly in front of them. They were demons wrapped in an angelic cover. Their heavenly eyes giving all kinds of promises that made me flush from head to toe, their raven black hair craving to be touched, and their perfectly sculpted mouths offering the path to paradise. And yet they were obviously so much more than met the eye. Could I handle them? Probably not. And suddenly I knew I had to see this through. Had to know if Meriel was telling the truth and they really could teach me something new. If they were my ticket to a better life, far from the psychopathic master vampires, how could I say no? The assassin part? Well, I could think about that later. Maybe in time I would find my way to weasel out of following Meriel’s orders blindly. But right now, right there, these two hotties were the most exciting thing that had happened to me in months.

“So, you’re saying that the only way to stay here is to beat these two?” I confirmed.

Meriel nodded.

I sighed heavily. “Fine. Mumbo, Jumbo, follow me.”

They didn’t move and when I looked into their eyes there was a serious warning. Oh, they obviously knew nothing about me.

I smiled at them sweetly and arched my brow. “Boys?”

They moved so fast I didn’t see it coming and all of a sudden they were standing really close to me.

“Miss Green,” one of them whispered.

“Sam.” I flashed a grin.

He grinned back. “Alex.”

“Ben,” the other one breathed.

I felt chills up my spine. Okay, maybe, just maybe, I was in way deeper in trouble than I realized.

“Whatever,” I huffed, but couldn’t ignore the thrill spreading inside me. These men challenged me in a way I hadn’t been challenged in a while. I had fought almost every single vampire in this place and beaten the crap out of them, and yet it should have been the other way around. They were way older, faster, and stronger than me and still in some miraculous way I had managed to win. But these two, they were different. They would not hold back for me. Not once, and most likely I’d end up dead, but at least I would die knowing I had done my best.

“I just don’t know if we’re too broken to be fixed.”

Red Hunter (Blood Hunters Book 1) by Jennifer Loiske

What I like the most is Jennifer Loiske’s writing is her right to the point delivery. She does not waste words but hand selects them to fit the content ever so perfectly.

I am a great fan of everything and anything that this author has written. That being said, I have come to enjoy the hot vampires with their indescribable good looks and edgy attitudes.

I love the main characters demeanor followed by her fragile exterior. She is many things. Complicated and other worldly. And yet I relate to her so perfectly. She is everything I strive to be an more. Well, leaving out the blood sucking. I would pass on that aspect. Just a personal preference.

There is power in the writing and this book, Red Hunter is no exception. Jennifer Loiske calls it as it is. I love a strong female lead and maybe that is what draws me in. These books have something special and whether you like a blood thirsty demon or not, I highly recommend checking these books out yourself. Can’t imagine a better escape. Not even James Bond can hold a candle to the irresistible Dane.

5***** Dark and Delicious!

Sam is now a new born vampire and has had to deal with a cruel master and maybe losing the love of her life. Now Muriel the elder vampire believes that Sam is trying to get together with Muriel’s son and so sends Sam away from the house and her friends. Sam is to become a hunter. She is to be trained by the gorgeous twins, Alex and Ben. Kieran, Sam’s human ‘slave’ goes with her and at the last moment Dane also decides that he is going with her.

Here at the new place she endures the worst of days and is savagely attacked by Ben, but she pushes through it all by fighting back and earning her place in the brotherhood. She quickly becomes a ferocious and deadly being. She and Dane even rekindle their love but in the end this becomes her downfall and they may not get their ‘happily ever after’. The end was very climatic and I am very much looking forward to reading the next book.

I read Red Hunter by Jennifer Loiske in one sitting. The writing is fast paced and descriptive and had me turning page after page to see what was going to happen next. The characters are great and are easy to like/hate. Sam is such a strong, passionate female character that I was always willing her to do better or to win each fight or test she had to go through.

If you like action packed vampire stories, full of love and fighting, where one moment they are hot, sexy nice vampires and the next they are deadly predators then this is a book for you.

5***** Great follow up series so far!

Ahhhh I love Sam now that she’s badass! I loved the twins…even the more unpleasant scenes with them were done in such a way that it didn’t put me off them, a mark of true talent on the authors part. And Dane….*swoon*. I will say no more. It’s a quick read, and if you enjoyed the Immortal Blood series, you’re gonna enjoy this.

5*****

I absolutely loved the Immortal Blood series and was sad to see it end the way that it did, so when I found out there would be the Red Hunter series with some of the characters I fell in love with in the Immortal Blood series I was beyond excited. Meriel is a master vampire and Sam has to agree to Meriel’s twisted schemes and relocate with Alex and Ben to be trained. In this book we see Sam come into the vampire she was meant to be and learn the skills she needs to survive, but being a new vampire doesn’t prepare you for everything others had years to perfect. Dane is Sam’s creator and lover, Kieran is Sam’s blood servant yet she cares for him as much as she does Dane and I love both of their relationships with her. Alex and Ben have formed a bond with Sam but when Sam becomes the target, the question then becomes who side will they chose; their creator Meriel or Sam? Sam has a target on her back and I enjoyed every moment of watching her being pushed to her limits to become the hunter and killer we know she could be. This book definitely has its moments when you will be yelling at Sam to do something and moments where you will laugh out loud but you will be hooked from beginning to end. You know you’ve read a good book when it’s the book release day and you’re ready for the second book and with this book that’s exactly the way it is. I cannot wait to read the second book. I highly recommend this book to readers who are looking for a good paranormal read that you will absolutely devour from beginning to end.
